Mangere Mountain

This term we went on a trip to Mangere Mountain. We learned about the big crater. It was  so big and slippery. After that we went to the small craters where there was grass there because food was there a long time ago for the Maori  to keep their food for winter. Then we climbed up to where the the Maori people used to keep the security gate. If you climb it you will fall in to the hole and get stuck there for a long time. Then we saw the things that Maori used to eat. There were fish, dogs, black rats, starfish and all kinds of things.  Then we went back to have a play and eat our lunch. Then we learned about the kawakawa tea. It was kind of yuck, but it can heal the inside of you. We put on some kawakawa cream to heal our sore. I had a blister on my hand and it healed after five days. We learned about making a weapon. We all got a rock and stared to scratch on the rock bowl to make it more and more sharp. I liked it because at Mangere Mountain we had so much fun. Something I could change is I would bring comfortable shoes for my toes to not hurt. I was not happy about that.
